History
Ichishiro Station opened on 20 November 1945 on what is today JR East's Agatsuma Line, 16.4 km from the line's terminus at Shibukawa. It is located in the town of Nakanojō, Gunma Prefecture. The station consists of a single side platform whose station building is fashioned from a modified freight container, and it is unstaffed. JNR's 1 April 1987 privatisation transferred operation to JR East. The site lies near Azuma Onsen and the rest of the Agatsuma River valley resort district, although it is one of the line's lighter-trafficked stops.
