History

Esojima Station (TN 38) is a Tobu Railway Utsunomiya Line station in Yamato 2-chōme, Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture. It opened on 1 July 1944 and gained an overhead-concourse station building on 1 June 1982. The station has a single island platform serving two tracks, with a PASMO-compatible simple IC-card gate.

Notes

The station name's 'Esojima' originally referred to the western part of the old Yokokawa village, which was annexed in stages by Utsunomiya City — partially in 1952 and fully in 1954.
