History
Magae Station opened on 1 February 1943 as a new intermediate stop between Kami-Nonoichi (today's Nonoichi-Kōdaimae) and Ōnuka (today's Nuka-Jūtakumae) on the Hokuriku Railroad Ishikawa Line, the private interurban that links Nomachi in Kanazawa with Tsurugi. Some early sources instead date the station to 22 June 1915, the line's original opening between Shin-Nonoichi (today's Shin-Nishi-Kanazawa) and Tsurugi. The station now sits 5.5 kilometres from the Nomachi end of the line, is numbered I07, and has been unstaffed; the limited-stop semi-express services that once called here were abolished on 1 December 2006.
