History

Tekuno-Sakaki Station opened on 1 April 1999 as the first new station built by the third-sector Shinano Railway after it inherited the line from JR East in 1997. Located in the town of Sakaki, Nagano Prefecture, the station sits 47.9 km from the line origin at Karuizawa and takes its name from the adjacent Sakaki Techno Centre industrial park. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on 2 July 1998. The station became unstaffed on 1 April 2022, and Suica IC card service began on 14 March 2026. Two ground-level opposed side platforms serve two tracks, connected by a footbridge near the Sakaki end.

Notes

In the romanised station name, "Tekuno" follows the Japanese romanisation rather than the English spelling Techno - the same convention used at Morera Gifu Station.
