History
Kiryu-Kyujo-Mae Station opened on 1 October 2006 in the city of Kiryu, Gunma Prefecture, as a station on the Jomo Electric Railway Jomo Line. It is the newest station on the line, sitting 21.8 km from the terminus at Chuo-Maebashi. The station consists of a single side platform with an open-sided weather shelter rather than a station building, and remains unstaffed. The station serves Kiryu Sports Park and Kiryu Baseball Stadium on the east side. Although the Tobu Kiryu Line runs parallel through the area, there is no corresponding Tobu station at this point.
