History
Higoshi Station opened on 10 November 1928 as part of the original Jōmō Line built by the Jōmō Electric Railway Company, an interurban operator linking Chūō-Maebashi with Nishi-Kiryū across Gunma Prefecture. Located in the Higoshi neighbourhood of Maebashi, the unattended station is 9.9 kilometres from the line's western terminus at Chūō-Maebashi. It has remained a small single-platform halt serving local commuters and residents of the surrounding agricultural and suburban area since opening, and continues to be operated directly by the same private railway company today.

Notes
The station name uses an unusual reading: the kanji 樋越 is read "Higoshi".
