History
Shimo-Shinden Station opened on 14 March 1992 inside the existing Shimo-Shinden signal block, where the Watarase Keikoku Railway's Watarase Keikoku Line branches from JR East's Ryōmō Line. It is the newest station on the Watarase Keikoku Line and is operated solely by the third-sector railway, even though the trackage between Shimo-Shinden and Kiryū is shared with JR East under a dual-registered single-track arrangement. The unattended station has a single side platform on the Watarase track only; JR Ryōmō trains pass through without stopping. The line's zero-kilometre post sits about 150 metres east of the platform.
