History
Maebashi-Ōshima Station opened on 12 March 1999 to serve the East Maebashi Industrial Park and the prefecture's largest residential development, Hirose Danchi, replacing a connection lost when nearby Higashi-Maebashi Station was suspended in 1967 and formally closed at privatisation in 1987. The new station was built about 500 metres west of the original site. A south-side approach road and a new bridge over the Hirose River to Hirose Danchi were completed close to opening. Suica acceptance began on 18 November 2001, and the Midori no Madoguchi ticket office closed on 30 November 2021. Both north and south exits are equipped with elevators.
