History
Ariake Station opened on 8 August 1915 on the Ōito Line, located 18.4 kilometres from the Matsumoto terminus. It came under JR East control with the privatization of the Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. The station consists of a single island platform connected to the building by a footbridge and operates as a kan'i-itaku (simplified-commission) station. In fiscal 2015 average daily boardings stood at 777 passengers. National Route 147 and the Takase River pass nearby.
