History
Komagata Station opened on 20 November 1889 on what is today the Ryōmō Line, in present-day Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture. The station came under JR East control with the privatization of the Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, and began accepting Suica on 18 November 2001. A new elevated station building was completed on 28 March 2011, replacing the older facility. The Midori-no-Madoguchi staffed ticket office closed on 30 November 2021. The station has one side platform and one island platform connected by a footbridge, with elevators, wheelchair-accessible facilities, and Braille fare tables.
