History
Misato Station opened on 1 December 1988 on the Koumi Line, serving the city of Komoro in Nagano Prefecture. The Koumi Line had been privatised the previous year, so the station has been operated by East Japan Railway Company throughout its history. The single ground-level side platform serves one bi-directional track, and the station has no permanent building - only a platform shelter - and remains unattended. Misato sits 73.8 kilometres from the line's southern terminus at Kobuchizawa, close to National Route 141, one stop towards Kobuchizawa from neighbouring Mitsuoka Station.
