History
Hon-Nakano Station, numbered TI-42, lies in the town of Ōra in Gunma Prefecture and is served by the Tōbu Koizumi Line, 6.8 kilometres from the Tatebayashi terminus. It opened on 12 March 1917 as a stop on the Koizumi Line then operated by the Jōshū Railway company, which Tōbu acquired in 1937. After protracted disputes with local landowners over its original siting, the station was moved to its present location on 1 June 1922. Freight handling ended in 1963. Station numbering was introduced across the Tōbu network on 17 March 2012, and the platforms are now arranged as two opposed side platforms linked by a footbridge.

Notes
Before settling at its present site, the station's location triggered a years-long lawsuit between the railway company and Nakano village landowners, who withheld their share payments until the route was rerouted to satisfy them.
