History
Shinozuka Station, numbered TI-43, is on the Tōbu Koizumi Line in the town of Ōra in Gunma Prefecture, 9.2 kilometres from the Tatebayashi terminus. It opened on 12 March 1917 as a stop on the Koizumi Line then operated by the Jōshū Railway company, which Tōbu Railway absorbed in 1937. Freight handling ended in 1970, and the station became unattended in August 1980 under a simple consignment arrangement that was later dissolved entirely. The original 1917 wooden station building was demolished in 2006 and replaced with a smaller structure. Station numbering was applied across the Tōbu network on 17 March 2012. The site has a single side platform serving both directions.
