History
Shin-Hokota Station opened on 14 March 1985 with the opening of the third-sector Kashima Rinkai Railway's Ōarai Kashima Line. The station, in the town of Hokota, Ibaraki, is 31.0 km from the official starting point of the line at Mito. It has a single elevated island platform with the station building underneath, and serves as a bus hub for routes to Hokota Station, Ibaraki Airport, Ishioka, Tokyo (via Itako and Sawara) and Narita Airport.
