History
Ōasō Station opened on 7 October 1901 on what is now the Chichibu Main Line in Kumagaya, Saitama, 20.3 km from Hanyū. The station is staffed and consists of a single island platform serving two tracks, with a bi-directional freight loop and an additional siding south of the platform tracks. The neighbouring Hirosegawara depot, the Arakawa river and the Arakara Ōasō Wild Bird Park lie close by.
