History
Aketo Station opened on 14 March 1985 on the Chichibu Main Line, a comparatively late addition to a route whose other stations mostly date from the early twentieth century. Operated by the private Chichibu Railway, it lies 22.9 km from the line's eastern terminus at Hanyū, in the city of Fukaya, Saitama Prefecture. The station consists of a single island platform serving two tracks. PASMO IC card acceptance began on 12 March 2022, on which date the station was simultaneously destaffed. Surrounding facilities are minimal, with the Arakawa River and National Route 140 the nearest landmarks.
