History
Takekawa Station opened on 7 October 1901 as Tanaka Station, taking its current name from 24 June 1903. Operated by the private Chichibu Railway, it lies 24.8 km from the eastern terminus of the 71.7 km Chichibu Main Line at Hanyū, in the city of Fukaya, Saitama Prefecture. The station is staffed and consists of a single island platform serving two tracks, with three freight loops and additional sidings still preserved to the north of the platform tracks — a legacy of the line's long-standing role hauling limestone and cement traffic. The Arakawa River and National Route 140 run close by.

Notes
Three freight loops and additional sidings remain in place north of the passenger platform, surviving infrastructure from the line's historic limestone and cement haulage operations.
