History
Mochida Station opened on 15 November 1925 on the Chichibu Main Line, operated by the private Chichibu Railway. Located in the city of Gyōda, Saitama Prefecture, it sits 10.1 km from the eastern terminus at Hanyū. The station has a single island platform serving two tracks and retains a wooden station building, refurbished in 1993. PASMO IC card acceptance began on 12 March 2022, on which date the station was simultaneously destaffed. The single south-side entrance reaches the platform across an in-station level crossing, so departing trains can briefly hold disembarking passengers on the platform.

Notes
Mochida is one of only four stations on the Chichibu Main Line where trains keep to the right rather than the left — a legacy of the days when token-block working required the driver's window to face the platform for tablet handover.
