History
Oiwakeguchi Station opened on 13 May 1915 on what later became Keifuku Electric Railway's Echizen Main Line. Following the head-on collision on the Echizen Main Line on 25 June 2001, the entire line was suspended. The station passed to Echizen Railway with the rest of the network and reopened on 20 July 2003 as part of the Katsuyama Eiheiji Line, numbered E6. It is an unstaffed station with a single island platform connected to the station building by a level crossing, set between an industrial park to the north and houses and rice fields to the south at the edge of the city of Fukui.
