History

Kita-Mitsukaidō Station opened on 15 March 1972 on the Kantō Railway Jōsō Line, located in what is today the city of Jōsō in Ibaraki Prefecture. The station was built as part of the Morishita land-readjustment project that developed the surrounding residential district, and it is located 19.3 kilometres from the line's starting point at Toride Station. PASMO IC-card service began on 14 March 2009. The station consists of a single side platform serving bi-directional traffic and is normally unstaffed, although staff are dispatched from neighbouring Mitsukaidō Station during peak commuter periods.

Notes

Although usually quiet, the station sees a surge of passengers each August for the Jōsō Kinugawa fireworks display, whose riverside venue on the Kinugawa is closest to this stop.
