History
Midorino Station opened on 24 August 2005 with the inauguration of the Tsukuba Express, operated by the Metropolitan Intercity Railway Company, in the city of Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture. It is the 17th stop from the line's Tokyo terminus at Akihabara, 48.6 kilometres distant, and carries the station number TX17. The station is built on a viaduct with two opposed side platforms and a station building underneath. It serves a suburban district close to the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization and several federal agricultural research institutes.
