History
Mitsukaidō Station opened on 1 November 1913 as a station on the Jōsō Railroad, in what is today the city of Jōsō in Ibaraki Prefecture. The Jōsō Railroad was absorbed into the Kantō Railway in 1965, and the station building was rebuilt in 1973. It sits on the Jōsō Line 17.5 kilometres from the line's start at Toride and was originally the head office of the Jōsō Railroad. The station consists of one side platform and one island platform connected by a level crossing, served by Kantō Railway diesel trains running through to and from Toride.
