History
Ōdoro Station opened on 15 July 1896 in what is today the city of Fukui, Fukui Prefecture, and has thus served the area for over 125 years. The station came under JR West on 1 April 1987 at the JNR privatisation. On 16 March 2024, with the opening of the western extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Kanazawa to Tsuruga, the parallel conventional Hokuriku Main Line through Fukui was separated from JR West and transferred to the third-sector Hapi-Line Fukui, taking Ōdoro with it. The station now sits on the Hapi-Line Fukui Line 48.2 kilometres from the line's terminus at Tsuruga and consists of two opposed side platforms connected by a footbridge.
