History
Tobanaka Station opened on 1 October 1935 as a new station on the Fukubu Electric Railway. The 1945 merger that formed Fukui Railway transferred the station to that company's Fukubu Line. Station staff were withdrawn on 13 July 1971. A replacement station building was completed on 30 September 1990. The station serves Shinmei-chō in Sabae city, Fukui Prefecture, and consists of a single ground-level side platform. It carries the station number F9 on the Fukubu Line, between Shinmei and Sanjūhassha stations.
