History
Nishi-Sabae Station opened on 23 February 1924 on what is now the Fukui Railway Fukubu Line, in the city of Sabae, Fukui Prefecture. It serves the Fukubu Line at a point 5.3 km from the Takefu-shin terminus and lies less than a kilometre west of the JR West Sabae Station on the Hokuriku Main Line. The platform layout has remained as two ground-level opposed side platforms linked by a level crossing. The original wooden station building was replaced by a concrete structure in September 1995, and the station continues to be staffed.
