History

Moro Station opened on 15 April 1933 with the inauguration of the JNR Hachikō Line section between Higashi-Hannō and Ogose, handling both passengers and freight. Freight ended on 5 April 1974 and parcel service on 1 February 1984. The station passed to JR East at the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 and Suica IC-card use began on 8 February 2002. The Midori no Madoguchi ticket office closed on 4 March 2019, after which operation was contracted out; under JR East's plan the station is scheduled to become fully unstaffed on 14 March 2026. It lies in the town of Moroyama, Saitama Prefecture, on the single-track Hachikō Line, with two opposed side platforms linked by a footbridge.
