History

Kashiwa-Tanaka Station opened on 24 August 2005, coinciding with the inauguration of the Tsukuba Express line connecting Akihabara and Tsukuba. Located in the city of Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture, it sits 32.0 km from the line's southern terminus at Akihabara and carries the station number TX14. The station consists of two opposed elevated side platforms with the station building underneath, designed by the architect Makoto Sei Watanabe. The station is operated by the Metropolitan Intercity Railway Company. The surrounding area includes the Tone River and is largely residential, with the station serving as a hub for the wider Kashiwa-Tanaka district.
