History

Inzai-Makinohara Station opened on 1 April 1995 on the Hokusō Line in what is today Inzai, Chiba Prefecture. The north entrance was added in March 1997 as the Takino district began accepting residents. The station was selected as one of the 'Top 100 Train Stations of the Kantō Region' on 1 April 1998, cited for its arch-roof, symmetrical building flanked by cosmos in autumn. The single-island, two-track layout was extended to two islands and four tracks on 22 July 2000 with the opening of the Imba Vehicle Depot and through-services to Imba-Nihon-idai. Station numbering was introduced on 17 July 2010, assigning HS13. Third-sector Chiba Newtown Railway owns the track infrastructure.
