History

Yabashira Station opened on 21 April 1955 on the Shin-Keisei Electric Railway as a station serving the western edge of the Tokiwadaira housing district in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture. A second station building was completed in 2003, expanding the concourse and connecting it to an adjacent commercial block. Although it sits next to JR East's Shin-Yahashira Station on the Musashino Line, the two stops are operated as separate facilities. On 1 April 2025 Shin-Keisei was absorbed into Keisei Electric Railway, and the stop became a station on the renamed Keisei Matsudo Line, with its station number changed from SL05 to KS84.

Notes

The station name is read "Yabashira" here but "Shin-Yahashira" at the adjacent JR Musashino Line stop — the older Shin-Keisei station kept the local village reading while the later JR stop adopted a different rendering.
