History

Takinogawa-itchōme Station (SA 18) is a Toden Arakawa Line tram stop in Takinogawa 1-chōme, Kita-ku, Tokyo. It opened on 20 August 1911 with the original Ōji Electric Tramway between Asukayama-ue (now Asukayama) and Ōtsuka (now Ōtsuka-eki-mae). The Ōji Electric Tramway was sold to Tokyo City on 1 February 1942 and reorganised as the Takinogawa Line (today the Arakawa Line). The Takinogawa Line was suspended in 1944 as a wartime measure and resumed on 10 July 1946.

Notes

Although the stop is named for the Takinogawa 1-chōme district, the actual address coordinates locate it directly adjacent to Asukayama Park and across National Route 122 from major civic buildings including the Kita-ku Citizens' Center and Sakuragaoka High School.
