History
Sakurakaidō Station opened on 27 November 1998 with the inauguration of the Tama Toshi Monorail Line, which runs above Tokyo Metropolitan Route 43 (Imokubo-kaidō). The elevated stop carries two side platforms serving two tracks and uses the line's standardised station building. It sits in Kamikitadai, Higashiyamato, just 0.7 km from the eastern terminus at Kamikitadai. Station numbering was introduced across the monorail in February 2018, when this stop was designated TT18. Surrounding facilities include the Tokyo Tama and Yamato plants of Morinaga Milk Industry as well as Casio Hitachi Mobile Communications' Tokyo plant.
