History

Onigoe Station opened on 3 August 1935 on the Keisei Main Line as Nakayama-Onigoe Station, granted in response to a request from residents of the former Nakayama Town following its merger into the new Ichikawa City. It was renamed Onigoe on 1 February 1943. In September 1971 its layout was rebuilt from two side platforms serving two tracks into the present single island platform serving two tracks. Accessibility upgrades, including a lift, were completed on 7 March 2018. The station building sits at the Keisei-Yawata end and is linked to the platform by an at-grade passenger crossing; only locals stop here, while all rapid and limited-express services pass through.
