History
Keisei Hikifune Station opened on 3 November 1912 as Hikifune Station on what is now the Keisei Oshiage Line in Sumida ward. It was renamed Keisei Hikifune on 18 November 1931 to avoid confusion with the Tōbu stop of the same name. On 1 May 1969 the platforms were shifted toward the Yawata end so they could be lengthened to accommodate eight-car formations. After the July 2010 timetable revision, express services no longer stopped here, leaving only local trains. The up-line track (toward Oshiage) was elevated on 24 August 2013, followed by the down-line side on 22 August 2015, completing full grade-separation. Concourse-level passages and a Sumida-ward-supplied lift and escalator entered service on 1 April 2017.

Notes
The full elevation finished in 2015 made this the first station on the Keisei network to roll out the operator's new station-signage design.
