History

Higashi-Azuma Station opened on 15 April 1928 on the Tōbu Kameido Line in what is now Sumida ward, eastern Tokyo, and is operated by the Tōbu Railway. The 3.4-kilometre Kameido Line runs between Hikifune and Kameido; Higashi-Azuma sits 2.0 kilometres east of Hikifune and is built as two opposed side platforms serving two tracks. The station is also a stop on a Sumida-ward community bus loop, the すみだ百景 すみまるくん・すみりんちゃん north-east route, whose nearest stand is a short walk west of the station entrance.
