History
Shin-Kōenji Station opened on 1 November 1961 as an underground stop on the Marunouchi Line of the Teito Rapid Transit Authority (TRTA), in Suginami, Tokyo. It serves the Marunouchi Line between Ogikubo and Ikebukuro, sitting 21.5 km from the eastern terminus at Ikebukuro, and carries the station number M-03. Operations passed to Tokyo Metro on 1 April 2004 when TRTA was privatised. The station has two underground side platforms, each served by its own set of ticket gates, with surface access from exits on opposite sides of Ōme Kaidō.
