History

Jimbocho Station sits beneath the Hakusan-dori–Yasukuni-dori intersection in Chiyoda, Tokyo, and is jointly operated by Tokyo Metro and the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation. The Toei Mita Line platforms opened first on 30 June 1972 as part of the then-numbered Toei Line 6. The Toei Shinjuku Line platforms followed on 16 March 1980, and the Hanzōmon Line platforms on 26 January 1989. Hanzōmon Line operations transferred from the Teito Rapid Transit Authority to Tokyo Metro at the agency's privatisation in 2004. The four-level underground complex now serves three lines amid the Jimbōchō book-town district and Senshū University.

Notes

On the Toei Mita Line side a "Senshu Daigaku-mae" advertisement is displayed beside the station nameboard, though it is not treated as an official sub-name.
