History
Shin-Koganei Station opened on 22 October 1917 as a passenger stop on what is now the Seibu Tamagawa Line, in the city of Koganei in western Tokyo. The station has two opposed ground-level side platforms connected by a level crossing rather than an overbridge. Seibu Railway introduced system-wide station numbering during fiscal 2012, and Shin-Koganei was assigned the number SW02. The stop sits 4.1 km from the line's Musashi-Sakai terminus and primarily serves residents and students travelling to nearby International Christian University and its affiliated high school.
