History
Iwamotocho Station is a Toei Shinjuku Line subway stop in Chiyoda, Tokyo, 7.3 km from the line's western terminus at Shinjuku Station. Operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation, it carries the station number S-08 and is laid out with two island platforms serving three tracks. The station opened on 21 December 1978 as part of the Shinjuku Line's first extension. Although geographically only 150 metres from Akihabara on the JR Sōbu and Yamanote Lines, Iwamotochō is skipped by the Shinjuku Line's express services, a routing quirk that limits its utility for commuters bound for the major interchange directly to its north-west.

Notes
Iwamotochō is only about 150 metres from Akihabara Station, but Shinjuku Line express services skip the platform, leaving local trains as the sole way in or out.
