History
Shinjuku-nishiguchi Station is a subway stop on the Toei Ōedo Line in Shinjuku, Tokyo, with the station number E-01. Operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation, it opened on 12 December 2000 as part of the Ōedo Line's last operating segment. The single-island, two-track platform sits on basement level four, with the north ticket gate leading to the Ōgado intersection and the south gate connecting toward the Odakyu department store complex. Despite its name, Shinjuku-nishiguchi is a satellite station: it is north-west of the main Shinjuku interchange and stands closer to the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi, Seibu Shinjuku and bus-terminal entrances than to JR Shinjuku itself.
