History

Takebashi Station is a Tokyo Metro Tōzai Line subway stop in Chiyoda, Tokyo, designated T-08. The station opened on 16 March 1966, operated by the Teito Rapid Transit Authority (TRTA), as part of the Tōzai Line's initial trunk between Otemachi and Iidabashi. After the TRTA was privatised on 1 April 2004, the station's facilities passed to Tokyo Metro. The underground station has two side platforms serving two tracks. It is located directly beneath the Palaceside Building, home of the Mainichi Shimbun, and adjacent to the northern edge of the Imperial Palace grounds—convenient for the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo and the Japan Science Foundation's Science Museum.
