History
Takeshiba Station opened on 1 November 1995 on the elevated Yurikamome Line, an automated guideway transit (AGT) system serving the Tokyo Bay waterfront. Numbered U-03, it lies on the inner side of the line not far from the Shimbashi starting point in Minato Ward. The station is the only one on the entire Yurikamome route built with two opposed side platforms; every other Yurikamome station uses one or two island platforms. The station and the rest of the line are operated by Yurikamome Inc., a Tokyo Metropolitan Government affiliated third-sector railway company.

Notes
Among all Yurikamome stops, Takeshiba is the only one whose elevated platform layout is a pair of side platforms rather than a single island platform.
