History
Yūhigaura-Kitsu-onsen Station opened on 25 May 1931 as Tango-Kitsu Station (丹後木津駅), when the state railway was extended from Amino. It became an intermediate stop on 10 August 1932 once the line was completed through to Kumihama. Freight handling ended on 1 October 1962 and the station became unstaffed on 14 March 1985. With the privatisation of JNR on 1 April 1987 it passed to JR West, before being transferred to Kitakinki Tango Railway on 1 April 1990 and renamed Kitsu Onsen Station (木津温泉駅). On 1 April 2015, when operations were taken over by Willer Trains (Kyoto Tango Railway), the station took its present name. The station is on the Miyazu Line, in the city of Kyōtango, Kyoto Prefecture.
