History
Shijō-mae Station (literally "In Front of the Market") opened on 27 March 2006 on the Yurikamome automated guideway transit line in Kōtō, Tokyo. The station is 13.5 kilometres from the line's origin at Shimbashi and consists of an elevated island platform serving two tracks. Its name anticipated the nearby Toyosu Market, intended to replace the Tsukiji fish market; repeated delays meant the market did not actually open until 2018, twelve years after the station itself. The station carries the line number U-14.
