History
Chibakōen Station opened on 12 June 1991 as a monorail stop on Chiba Urban Monorail Line 2 in Chūō-ku, Chiba. It sits 1.1 kilometres from the line's northern terminus at Chiba Station and is an elevated structure with two opposed side platforms serving two tracks. Station numbering on the network places Chibakōen at CM 04. IC card "PASMO" became usable at the station from 14 March 2009. The station takes its name from the adjacent Chiba Park, the city's main general-purpose park, which lies to the west of the station; the east side is a quiet residential area along National Route 126.

Notes
Although it is a monorail station, several other rail-network stations sit within roughly a kilometre — including JR's Higashi-Chiba and Keisei-Chiba — to the point that walking can sometimes be faster than transferring.
