History

Yoshikawa-kōen Station opened on 24 March 1999 as a stop on the Chiba Urban Monorail Line 1 in Chūō-ku, Chiba City. The station is an elevated facility with a single island platform serving two tracks and is operated as an unstaffed station. PASMO IC cards became usable on 14 March 2009. Located in central Chiba, the station sits directly above the Yoshikawa River and the small Yoshikawa Park that runs along it, with the line crossing the Chiba urban-renewal area along the 'Central Arch' viaduct of National Route 14.

Beneath the station the Chiba Ginza shopping street runs east from the Chiba Central Twin Building No. 2 toward the Tōgane highway, making the station the most convenient stop for the prefectural district court and prosecutors' office.
