History
Kotobuki Station opened on 19 June 1929 on what is today the Fujikyuko Line in the city of Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture. It was originally named Kurechi Station (暮地駅), but on 11 June 1930 it was renamed Kotobuki because the kanji 暮地 too closely resembled 墓地, the word for "graveyard." The line is operated by Fuji Kyuko (Fujikyu), and the station sits 18.8 km from the line's terminus at Ōtsuki. It is unstaffed, consisting of a single side platform serving one bi-directional track with a waiting room on the south side.

Notes
The 1930 rename was driven entirely by superstition: the kanji 暮地 (Kurechi) read at a glance as 墓地 (graveyard), so the auspicious 寿 (longevity, "Kotobuki") was substituted.
