History
Asano Station was a Nagoya Railroad (Meitetsu) Ichinomiya Line stop in what is now Asano, Ichinomiya, Aichi Prefecture (originally Niwa District's Nishinari Village). It opened on 6 August 1912, served both passengers and freight, and was patronised by Asano Nagakoto, a former Hiroshima domain lord said to have visited the area linked to his ancestor Asano Nagamasa. Freight handling ended in 1962 and the station closed on 25 April 1965 with the abandonment of the line segment. The trackbed became Aichi Prefectural Route 149 (Asano-Hane-Iwakura Line); the station site sits roughly 300 m south of present-day Asano Park.
