History

Ichinose Station opened on 10 May 1932 as a stop on the original Fuji-Minobu Railway, four and a half years after the line reached Minobu, and was unstaffed from the day it opened. On 1 October 1938 the Fuji-Minobu Railway was leased by the Ministry of Railways and the stop was upgraded to a full station; the line was nationalised on 1 May 1941, becoming the Minobu Line, and later passed to Japanese National Railways. After privatisation on 1 April 1987 the station came under JR Central. The platform-side toilet was closed at the end of March 2023 and the building subsequently removed. The unstaffed station, in Minobu, Yamanashi Prefecture, has one side platform 56.1 km from Fuji.
