History
Tsunoi Station opened on 20 December 1919 when the Imperial Railway Bureau opened the Inbi Light Railway between Tottori and Mochigase. The light-railway designation was dropped on 2 September 1922, and after completion to Tsuyama in July 1932 the station settled on the present Inbi Line. Freight handling ended in September 1961 and parcel handling in October 1970, when the station became unstaffed. Following the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 it came under JR West, and it became completely unstaffed on 31 March 2022 with ICOCA introduction scheduled for spring 2027. The wooden station building survives, fronting a single island platform 4.3 km from Tottori.
