History
Takahama Station opened on 2 February 1930 on the Taisha Line in Satogata-chō, Izumo, Shimane Prefecture. On 1 April 2006, when Ichibata Electric Railway reorganised under a holding company, the new Ichibata Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (Ichibata Densha) took over the railway business and the station passed to that operator.

Three hundred metres east of Takahama Station, alongside the track, two preserved cars (Deha 3 and Deha 6) built for the Ichibata Electric Railway are on display; both can be glimpsed from the south side of passing trains.
